Stylo’s Collection is a Sukhumvit tailor, located only a short walk from Phrom Phong BTS. Established in 1965, by the current owner Mr. Somchai Chatry, Stylo’s Collection’s day to day operations are overseen by the current general manager, GP. For over 30 years, Stylo’s Collection has set the bar for what can be achieved in terms of style, customer service, fabric variety and general standards of excellence. With many decades of success behind them, a vast network of suppliers, factories and warehouses, Stylo’s Collection truly has every aspect of the tailoring market covered, affording them the luxury of focusing on delivering the best possible bespoke experience for their clients, both domestic and international. Stylo’s Collection is no stranger to the world of celebrities, having catered to many famous Thai TV stars. They have also attracted Hollywood superstars to their shop, with action-movie stars like Nic Cage and Steven Seagal among the list of famous visitors to their Bangkok shop.
When I first encountered Stylo’s Collection, one of the first things I learned about was the seriously impressive range of fabrics they have on offer for their clients. Whereby other tailor shops have certain fabric lines or a few brand names, Stylo’s Collection simply blows them out of the water by not only stocking a greater number of famous fabrics, but also creating an entire range exclusive only to their shop. The Classic Range sees a wonderful assortment of in-house fabrics sourced from some of the best independent mills across the world, and is easily on par with more expensive options found in other tailors in Bangkok. If you do crave the elusive brand name fabrics, then fear not as Stylo’s Collection has that covered with well-known designs from Loro Piana, Dormier and Zegna to name but a few. In addition to this, Stylo’s Collection stocks the world famous and much sought-after Bemberg jacket lining, imported directly from Japan, along with their own premium silk options. Prices can start as low as 6,000 baht for a good quality suit, but obviously the prices increase when you opt for the higher-end fabrics. Their pants are carefully fitted, and come with custom trimming to ensure maximum comfort and longevity.
Stylo’s Collection offers the complete gamut as it pertains to men’s tailoring. Their two-ply cotton shirts, starting at 1,200 baht, are easy-to-iron, always well-fitted and stand up well to the normal wear and tear associated with much worn items of this sort. More expensive options are available, with one such example being the delightful Snowberry, along with some alternative fabrics like silk or linen. Other, less formal types of clothes such as jeans, shoes, belts, and leather jackets are all produced to same exacting standards, ensuring even these more obscure material choices adhere to Stylo’s Collection’s high standards.
One distinct area where Stylo’s Collection excels above nearly all other tailors, is their manufacturing and quality control facilities. Not only does Stylo’s Collection craft their own suits in-house, but they also provide this service for a large number of tailors internationally in Europe, North America and Africa. This global network of trusted clients whom they export to suggests that quality and consistency is paramount for all who work at Stylo’s Collection and their facilities. Upon visiting their factory, I met their dedicated master tailor who was happy to show me some examples of his incredible craftsmanship. The attention to detail, and the subtle alterations being made were a joy to witness, and when backed up with several long-serving staff members you have a team that is highly professional, passionate and creative. After visiting the factory, I was given a tour of their Quality Control department. I was confronted by an enormous amount of suits, shirts and many other items of clothing, with some of it for local clients, but also a vast amount being prepped for shipping overseas to just about every continent. Each item of clothing is individually checked against their recorded measurements, and then double checked to ensure nothing was missed. It seems as though nothing but perfection is accepted at Stylo’s Collection, and it is perhaps their unofficial mantra.
It can often be easy to overstate how great an experience with a tailor is, but with Stylo’s Collection, all the plaudits I have given to them are well deserved. With one of the finest factory and QC facilities in Thailand, along with a wonderful team of staff who will guide you expertly through the experience of purchasing a bespoke suit, I can whole-heartedly state that Stylo’s Collection is a premier option for tailoring, both in Bangkok and abroad.
